Unihertz Titan 2 first impression and Polaroid photo experience
I recently started to appreciate and collect “old” retro tech. A clear sign that I’m getting older 😂
Titan 2 really intrigued me because it clearly took inspiration from Blackberry but is packed with contemporary tech and software. Typing feels a little slower than on a touchscreen but the tactility and accuracy is pretty satisfying. I also really love the keyboard touchpad to scroll on websites without touching the screen. I don’t like the heft and the size of the device though. It’s thick and feels like a brick in my hand.
Anyway, the device form factor reminded me of a Polaroid photo. A square image surrounded by a bottom-heavy border, and the camera on the Titan 2 isn’t great. I wanted to see how it would feel like to turn the phone into a Polaroid camera AND photo and to shake it. I know, you are not supposed to shake it but we all did, didn’t we? 😉
I used Gemini Canvas to vibe-code a web “app” in about 30 minutes to implement my “vision”. I was pretty satisfied and surprised I got a decent web experience without writing a single line of code. Feel free to check it out if you want: https://davidkim-code.github.io/instantphoto/
